Buffalo, NY – Ford managers and dealers hung a giant new banner at the Woodlawn Stamping Plant Monday to remind the public that Ford is going strong.

Production at the plant will increase next month to help launch the new MKT. The plant also is keeping up with demand for the company's popular cross-over vehicles. Ford is adding 90,000 units this year. John Schuldt is the regional manager for Ford. He said those are all optimistic signs for the future of the Woodlawn Stamping Plant.
A recent automotive review gave the Ford Edge the edge in quality ratings over Toyota. Schuldt said quality products and a sound financial plan are keeping the company stable during the sour economy. He said not taking any bail-out money also turned out to be an excellent marketing tool. He said customers have said they bought a Ford for the first time because of that.
Ford officials said they are focused on convincing customers to buy American. About 800 people are employed at the Woodlawn Plant. Officials estimate that about 6,000 families are supported by the plant and related business.
