Buffalo, NY – A send off ceremony was held for the former Memorial Auditorium Tuesday afternoon in downtown Buffalo. The ceremony included a look into a time capsule from 1939 and more demolition of the last standing Aud wall.

Congressman Brian Higgins, Erie County Executive Chris Collins and ECHDC Chairman Jordan Levy spoke about the Aud and the future of Buffalo's waterfront. Mayor Byron Brown opened up a 1939 time capsule removed from the Aud. Several newspapers, including a copy of the Courier Express dated November 30th, 1939 and blue prints of the Aud were inside.

Items from the Aud time capsule were transported to the Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society and are now on display. You can watch the "send off" ceremony on our Website at WBFO.org, just click on our news page.
