Buffalo, NY – Erie County Executive Chris Collins checked another item off of his Road to a Bright Future list Tuesday. This time the road led to the end of Hertel Avenue, where he introduced the new-and-improved Tow Path Park.
The five-acre park looks out over the Niagara River. Renovations included better parking, lighting and picnic areas. Signage was also added to depict the area's historic past, with old photos and maps.
Buffalo Public Works Commissioner Steve Stepniak says parks users are giving the improvements a thumbs up.
Total cost of the improvements was more than $600,000. Half of the money came from Erie County while the other half was funding from the state Clean Water/Clean Air Bond Act.
