West Seneca, NY – West Seneca and Evans residents have decisively voted to downsize their town governments in a special election Wednesday. Regionalism advocate Kevin Gaughan says there's more to come.
The margin in West Seneca was about 6,200 to 4,300 votes, and in Evans the measure passed by a 2,200 to 1,300 vote. Both town boards will drop from five members to three when current terms expire.
In West Seneca, lawn signs both for and against the downsizing were scattered throughout the town. WBFO'S Eileen Buckley traveled to a polling site yesterday to talk with West Seneca residents.
