Missing Buffalo Officer Found

By Eileen Buckley

West Seneca, NY – Buffalo Police conducted an air and ground search for one of their own officers in West Seneca. Police say Inspector David Andrews had been missing since 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon.

Andrews was last spotted walking his two dogs near the Clinton Street and Mineral Springs area of West Seneca, not far from his home on Pontiac Street near the Buffalo River. The dogs returned home. Buffalo Police believe Andrews may have experienced medical troubles. They say Andrews is a diabetic.

An air search was conducted by the Erie County Sheriff's helicopter. Buffalo Police continued searching the area Tuesday night with the help of West Seneca Police. But the search ended around 10:30 Tuesday evening when Andrews was found in the garage of his home.

Police say Andrews was being evaluated.
