Amherst, NY – Fire Friday morning heavily damaged a building that houses Amherst Collision and four apartments on Main Street in Williamsville.
Volunteer firefighters responded to the fire shortly after 6:30am and had the blaze under control by 7:15am. All residents of the apartments safely escaped the flames.
Damage was estimated at $420,000. No word yet on the cause.
Main Street was closed in both directions during the morning rush hour, tying up traffic for commuters.
