Buffalo, NY – A ceremony was held Tuesday to mark the start of restoration of the Scajaquada Trailway in Delaware Park.
Thomas Herrera-Mischler, president of the Buffalo Olmstead Parks Conservancy, says his organization is overseeing the restoration. He says they're bringing back an important part of Buffalo's history.
Herrera-Mischler says improvements will include the installation of new lighting and benches as well as interpretive signage. He says the signs will help tell the story of the pathway and the history that's happened around it.
He says the project will provide a connection between the Niagara River Greenway and the more than 80 miles of paths and trails in the Buffalo Olmstead Parks System.
