Buffalo, NY – In preparation for WBFO's presentation of The Rossberg Retrospective, some of the best of Bob Rossberg's Sound of Swing programs, Ariel Rossberg, Bob's granddaughter, asked to say a few words about her grandfather.
WBFO will air 17 hour-long episodes of the Bob Rossberg big band program The Sound of Swing as part of our 50th anniversary celebration.
These classic public radio programs are vintage 1982-84 shows that aired on WBFO and were nationally syndicated on stations across the country.
SUNY Distinguished Service Professor, teacher in the Department of Counseling and Educational Psychology, Rossberg died in 1996; long-time WBFO listeners often request that the popular radio programs focusing on the history of jazz be offered again. The original reel-to-reel analog tapes of Sound of Swing have been digitally remastered for this special retrospective.
