St. Bonaventure, NY – St. Bonaventure University will host a discussion Thursday night about the Catholic church and the death penalty.
Dr. Amy Sayward is a 1991 graduate of St. Bonaventure. She's currently chair of the History Department at Middle Tennessee State University. Dr. Sayward has been active in the death penalty abolitionist movement in Tennessee and is working on a new book that documents that effort. She and Olean attorney Janine Fodor will lead a discussion, "Are Catholics Really Pro-Life? The Case against the Death Penalty." It's free and open to the public at 7:00 at the Quick Center for the Arts at St. Bonaventure.
WBFO News reached her on the phone earlier this week to talk more about the death penalty. Click the audio player above to hear Mark Scott's interview now or use your podcasting software to download it to your computer or iPod. Dr. Amy Sayward is an anti-death penalty advocate.
