Buffalo, NY – The Theatre Alliance of Buffalo premiered its latest production this week. The collaboration of local theatre groups launched a new web site as its latest joint marketing effort.
So you want to take in a play but can't decide where to go or don't know what's running? Now, with one simple hit on your computer, Buffalo's entire theatre scene opens before you. The home page flashes stunning photos from 19 theatre groups. The photos change randomly, taking turns tempting you to come see their latest productions.
Scrolling beneath are links to each theatre with details of their shows, times and tickets. Constance McEwen Caldwell is communications director for the Alliance. She said it is a wholly democratic process that gives every theatre an equal shot at shameless self-promotion.
And Caldwell sid that means it is a one-stop-shop for the theatre lover too. She said its a boutique web site, with details on what's up and what's coming. There are even profiles and pics of who is in the limelight. And Caldwell said if you've got the itch to try a little acting yourself, check out the casting calls.
She said it is a resource for the community and the industry.
Caldwell said the site will continue to grow and will eventually include profiles of all your favorite Buffalo stage - and behind the stage - personalities.
You can find it on the web at Theatre Alliance of Buffalo.
