Buffalo, NY – The disciplinary hearing for suspended Buffalo Police detective Dennis Delano will resume Monday. For the first time, since the hearings began last month, Police Commissioner McCarthy Gipson is talking about the proceedings.

Commissioner Gipson suspended Delano last year for releasing evidence in the Lynn Dejac case. Delano's attorney, Steve Cohen, is still presenting their side. But Gipson says he did not expect the hearing to last this long.

Gipson is limited to what he can say about the case. But he says Delano broke the rules of the police department. Gipson says there must be consequences for Delano's actions.

An arbitrator will issue a recommendation. Then Gipson will make the final decision on Delano's career as a cop.

Gipson says the hearing is expected to wrap up on Monday, even if it takes the entire day.
