Buffalo, NY – The Republican Caucus in the Erie County Legislature presented its 2009 agenda Wednesday. They're calling it "A FAIR Deal for Erie County Taxpayers."
Legislator Edward Rath, III, says there's a need for a breath of fresh air in county government. He says their plan would bring the government to the people and make it more accessible.
Rath says taxpayers are looking to downsize town boards as well as the Legislature itself. The Republican plan would reduce the size of the Legislature from 15 members to just nine while lowering legislator salaries to $27,000 -- the average income in Erie County.
Minority Leader John Mills says it's critical that infrastructure improvements are made immediately in the county.
