Buffalo, NY – A Pulitzer Prize winning author will be in Buffalo Thursday night to sign her New York Times bestseller "People of the Book". Geraldine Brooks will deliver a lecture and book signing at Buffalo State's Rockwell Hall. WBFO'S Eileen Buckley talked with Brooks about her book.
Brooks will be appearing before a Buffalo audience for the first time, but it is not her first trip to Western New York. She has delivered a couple of past speeches at the Chautauqua Institution.
The Australian-born writer's first fiction book was "Year of Wonders". Her second novel, "March" received the Pulitzer Prize in fiction in 2006. Brooks also worked as war correspondent for the Wall Street Journal in the Middle East, Africa and the Balkans.
