Buffalo, NY – The Buffalo School District is expected to receive funding from the federal economic stimulus package. But Schools Superintendent James Williams warns that it will not be enough over the long term. WBFO'S Eileen Buckley sat down with Williams to get an update on District funding and on-going battles with the teachers union.
Faced with a $52 million dollar budget deficit, Williams released information on Friday outlining give-backs by members of his appointed staff. He says since July of 2005, his staffers have given back two sick days, three personal days and are paying 20% of their health care costs. He is calling on the District's unions to follow his example.
