Buffalo, NY – Some difficult homicide statistic have been released for New York State. 55% of women murdered last year were the result of domestic violence. The State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued a new report focusing on domestic homicides in 2007.
The state office for Prevention of Domestic Violence says the report is the first of its kind. Amy Barasch is the executive director. She says this report offers a comprehensive look at domestic homicides and outlines important baselines.
