Buffalo, NY – County Executive Chris Collins says the budget recommendations being offered by the Erie County Fiscal Stability Authority are of little help.
The control board earlier this month rejected Collins' proposed 2009 county budget. Then on Sunday, the board offered its own proposals, such as postponing raises for top county officials and increasing some fees.
Collins responds that their recommendations are inadequate.
"If you don't like my budget, then put forth your own budget," Collins said. "Put meat on the bone, not these generalities."
Collins says $700,000 could be saved if the control board simply went out of business.
The County Legislature is scheduled to submit its budget revisions Wednesday with a final vote on the spending plan taking place next Monday.
