Buffalo, NY – Mattel is cutting 70 jobs at Fisher-Price in East Aurora.
Fisher Price officials say the job cuts are being made despite the fact the toymaker had record sales and profits last year. Mattel says it is making across-the-board cuts at all of its operations, eliminating one thousand jobs.
In a written statement, Mattel says the current economic climate forced the company to streamline its global workforce. The layoffs are effective immediately.
Severance and outplacement services will be made available to affected employees.
