Buffalo, NY – County Executive Chris Collins' Brighter Future Fund made its latest donation Thursday to Buffalo's Theater of Youth Company. He created the charitable fund when he took office in January. Since that time, Collins has been working for just a dollar per month, giving the remainder of his salary to fund charitable efforts.
Collins says he's trying to set a good example by helping financially-strapped non-profit agencies.
More than $135,000 has been donated to more than 20 organizations this year.
Collins says many of the recipients are often too small to be noticed by large charitable foundations.
