Buffalo, NY – Deputy Erie County Executive Mark Davis will resign at the end of the month. The former Talking Phone Book executive is leaving after serving just seven months on the job.
County Executive Chris Collins will appoint his director of Six Sigma operations, Alfred Hammonds Jr., as the new deputy.
Collins says Davis' departure did not come as a surprise.
"When I accepted this post back in December, the County Executive knew my tenure would be short, but that my private sector experience would help this administration start strong and establish a solid foundation for the next three and a half years," Davis said.
Davis is credited with developing new policies that reduced the number of county cell phones and take-home vehicles. He is also helping to negotiate a new parks agreement with the city of Buffalo.
