Buffalo, NY – It was 50 years ago Friday -- July 4th, 1958 -- that WKBW Radio launched the Top 40 Rock and Roll format that made it one of the nation's legendary radio stations.
Thursday night, the group Forgotten Buffalo celebrates the anniversary with an outdoor sock-hop outside the old home of KB radio at 1430 Main Street.
It will feature live music, classic cars and appearances by KB alumni. Organizer Marty Biniaz is a Buffalo radio enthusiast who joined us on the phone to talk about this significant anniversary.
