Economic Development Commissioner to Exit City Hall

Richard Tobe resigns as Commissioner of Economic Development, Permits and Inspections
Richard Tobe resigns as Commissioner of Economic Development, Permits and Inspections

By Eileen Buckley

Buffalo, NY – The head of the City's Economic Development, Permits and Inspections says he is being forced to leave his post.

Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown confirms that Richard Tobe will be leaving his City Hall job. Tobe says he has been asked to resign from his job.

Tobe says the Mayor has a reorganization plan for economic development, but it doesn't include Tobe's leadership.

WBFO News asked Mayor Brown about Tobe's departure. Brown would only say he wants the department to become more aggressive in economic development.
