Buffalo, NY – Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown is praising the overwhelming ratification of a new contract with the City's white collar union.
White collar workers at City Hall are in line to receive pay raises. Members of AFSCME Local 650 voted in favor of the new contract agreement Monday. The Mayor says the new deal will provide 17.2% raises over the next three years, including a three percent hike retroactive to last July.
This contract will cost the city $6.1 million. Tuesday afternoon the Buffalo Common Council unanimously approved the deal. Brown says the contact includes union concessions that will help save the city millions of dollars.
