Buffalo, NY – Buffalo's top Democrat said he is ready to reach out to presidential candidate Barack Obama now that Hillary Clinton appears out of the running.
Mayor Byron Brown was among those backing Senator Clinton in her bid for the Democratic nomination. And Brown said he still would like to see her as Obama's vice presidential candidate.
But the mayor said now it is time for party unity and moving forward to the general election.
Brown said he will be offering his support to Obama. And he will encourage the presumptive nominee to make Buffalo a campaign stop. Brown thinks the chances are good that the former Chicago resident will share an affinity with Buffalo, a sister rust-belt city.
Brown said he was not at all disappointed by Clinton's campaign efforts. He believes she was a strong candidate and would help make the Democratic ticket even stronger if chosen as Obama's running mate.
