Buffalo, NY – The Buffalo School Board met Wednesday night, reviewing the recently released McKinley High School report regarding the excessive suspension of student Jayvonna Kincannon.
Board member Catherine Nugent Panepinto proposed resolutions calling for the suspensions of McKinley principal Crystal Barton, superintendent James Williams, and other top district officials because of findings in the report implicating Barton as the cause of the difficulties.
There was no action taken on the resolutions.
A school board attorney told the board that charges of insubordination would likely not stick against Barton.
Investigator David Edmunds said Barton had finally agreed to an interview, but it was on the date the report was due.
