Jonathon Cote's Body Identified

Amherst, NY – The body of Jonathon Cote has been identified. The Cote family of Amherst was notifed by U-S officials Wednesday. The remains were identified at the Dover Air Force base in Delaware.

The 25 year old Cote was kidnapped in Iraq in November of 2006 while working for a private security company. He was taken hostage with four other co-workers.

Cote's remains were recently recovered in the Basra region of Iraq. Family spokesman, Dennis Hunt, tells WBFO News the family is not ready for interviews at this time. But the Cote's will be issuing a statement and answer questions at a news conference Thursday afternoon in Amherst.

Cote served in Iraq and Afghanistan for the U-S Army. After service he returned to Iraq to take a job as a private contractor. Cote was a graduate of Williamsville North High School.
