Buffalo, NY – The Erie County Medical Center informed the state health commissioner Monday that it is "suspending" its participation with the combined ECMC and Kaleida board.
ECMC says it's not appropriate to continue involvement with the board without a written agreement. ECMC Vice President Tom Quatroche says verbal assurances are no longer good enough.
The announcement came as a disappointment to Robert Gioia, who is chairman of the combined board. But he says it will not be a set-back.
