Buffalo, NY – Elvis' 73rd birthday was earlier this week. His memory is kept alive, not only through a vast catalogue of music, but also by tribute artists.
Terry Buckwald was born and raised in Depew. He says his mom was a big fan of strong male singers from the 50s and 60s like Tom Jones and Englebert Humperdink...and of course Elvis.
In 1991, Terry began fronting a few Elvis songs with a local band Flipside where he learned about showmanship and refined his act.
Since then, Terry's recorded five Elvis tribute CDs. He played the retirement party for former Buffalo Bill Jim Kelly and performed in nine Super Bowl pre-game shows.
Terry and his behind the scenes crew of five won the Buffalo Music Award for best show band of 2007... their fifth BMA.
He spends about half the year entertaining in Las Vegas where he keeps an apartment and the other half home in Lancaster.
WBFO's Kenny Macdonald caught up with Buckwald at the Fairgrounds in Hamburg where he was playing a packed Elvis Birthday dinner performance.
