Two Arrests in Heist of a DHL Truck in Cheektowaga

By Eileen Buckley

Cheektowaga, NY – Cheektowaga Police arrested two suspects accused in last month's heist of a D-H-L delivery truck filled with controlled substances. But the investigation continue.

On the evening of December 17th, a 26year old driver of a DHL delivery truck was kidnapped by three armed suspects on Duke Road in Cheektowaga. Cheekotwaga police lieutenant Michael Isbrandt says the truck was filled with a wide-variety of prescription drugs worth at least a half-million dollars. The truck and driver were abandoned in Buffalo.

But investigators developed information leading them to Wende Street in the City. With the help of Buffalo police and armed with a search warrant, they arrested 38 year old Lemeule Jackson and 26 year old Jason Preston.

A large quantity of the drugs was recovered. Cheektowaga Police Lieutenant Michael Sliwinski says prescription drugs are becoming very popular on the streets.

The investigation continues and more arrests are expected. The suspects face robbery, kidnapping, assault, grand larceny and weapons charges.
