Buffalo, NY – Erie County Executive-elect Chris Collins will officially drop the "elect" from his title Tuesday, although his swearing in ceremonies took place Sunday at the University at Buffalo's Center for the Arts.
In his inaugural address, Collins reiterated his campaign promise to change the way county government operates.
Afterward, Collins told reporters he will not micromanage. But he said he will hold his department heads accountable.
"We're going to ask each of them to develop the metrics to which we will hold them accountable," Collins said. "We're going to publish those on the Internet every month as part of an operational report, so the public can gauge how we're doing."
Collins still has some top county posts to fill.
