Renaissance of Delaware Avenue in Kenmore

By Eileen Buckley

Kenmore, NY – The Village of Kenmore has completed a $1.6 million renovation project along Delaware Avenue.

Village leaders are calling it a "renaissance" of Delaware Avenue. U-S Congresswoman Louise Slaughter appeared at the Municipal Building in Kenmore Thursday afternoon to help celebrate the completion of the Delaware Avenue Streetscape project.

Kenmore is part of Slaughter's district. Slaughter secured $600,000 in federal funding for the project.

Outgoing Kenmore Mayor John Beaumont says they've added stamped concrete, new sidewalks, curbs and more handicap accessibility. Beaumont says it has also attracted some new business.
