Buffalo, NY – The Erie Canal Harbor Development Corporation place a "stop work order" on construction of some historical exhibits near the new canal museum.
The Corporation is not pleased with what is being constructed at the site. They are called "interpretive" screens, but resemble large rectangles billboards.
The Harbor Development board actually approved the interpretive screens and displays last year. It is a $200,000 project. But now board members say they don't like what they see. Board Vice Chair Larry Quinn says he objected to the structure a long time ago, but was assured it would be attractive and appropriative for the site. Along with the stop work order, Quinn also called for a full review of the project.
