Kids Pressure Parents to Go Green

By Mark Scott

Buffalo, NY – Environmental activists seem to be targeting children more and more, with the goal of having them pressure their parents to act responsibly to protect the environment.

The "Wall Street Journal" recently reported on the trend. It used as an example the recent documentary "Arctic Tales," which closed with a child actor urging kids to tell their parents to buy a hybrid vehicle.

Rob Moore of the group Environmental Advocates in New York says today's kids are more environmentally aware.

Moore says a message from your child carries some weight. He says many agencies are using their websites to reach out to kids. The State Department of Environmental Conservation's site has information about its Junior Duck Stamp Program, which promotes habitat conservation.
