Buffalo, NY – This month marks the fifth anniversary of the arrests of the Lackawanna Six. The six young Yemeni-American men agreed to plea deals in which they admitted to attending an al Qaeda training camp.

Thursday afternoon, the author of a new book that tracks the case of the Lackawanna Six will join us for a one-hour news special. The book is titled "The Jihad Next Door: The Lackawanna Six and Rough Justice in an Age of Terror." It was written by NPR's FBI reporter Dina Temple-Raston.

She spent a significant amount of time in the Buffalo area, interviewing a variety of sources associated with the case. Among them is attorney Rodney Personius who represented defendant Yassein Taher. He recommended that his client not accept the plea deal that was offered by prosecutors. But Taher ended up doing so.

Mr. Personius joined us in studio to talk about his client five years after his arrest. Click the "listen" icon above to hear Mark Scott's interview now or use your podcasting software to download it to your computer or iPod.
