Buffalo, NY – A corruption probe into the City's Public Works Department will now shift into the corporate arena.
Two top former leaders of Buffalo's Public Works Department have both pleaded guilty to charges connected to accepting trips and gifts from companies doing business with the City. Thursday former deputy public works commissioner Daniel Kreuz pleaded guilty to tax evasion charges.
In June, retired public works commissioner Joseph Giambra also pleaded guilty to similar allegations. This was part of an 18 month probe by Erie County prosecutors.
But now District Attorney Frank Clark says this investigation now shifts from City workers to one of the corporate employees that supplied all the trips and perks to Kreuz and Giambra.
