Buffalo, NY – More DNA testing links bike path killer and rapist Altemio Sanchez to more sexual attacks.
Erie County District Attorney Frank Clark says eight cases are linked to Sanchez. But Clark says these are not new cases. The eight cases were from list of about 23 to 24 cases investigators developed during the Sanchez probe.
Clark says he is hoping Sanchez will still come forward before his sentencing on August 14th and admit to the rapes he is accused of committing.
In May, Sanchez admitted that he killed UB student Linda Yalem in 1990, Majane Mazur in 1092 and Joan Diver in 2006. DNA evidence linked Sanchez to those murders and other Buffalo area rapes.
All the rapes occurred between 1981 and 1994, well beyond the statue of limitation, so no charges could be filed against him.
