Buffalo, NY – As gas prices continue to climb well above three dollars a gallon, state assembly republicans are seeking relief for drivers.
The state Assembly's Republican minority says that with gasoline prices well above $3.00 a gallon, it is time to cut the state's gas tax. The Assembly GOP says it wants a cut of 12.5 cents per gallon in the state tax which is now almost 33 cents a gallon.
Hamburg Assemblyman Jack Quinn says it is not a big cut, but is a starting point that would provide every day gas consumers some needed relief.
