Buffalo, NY – Students at the Buffalo Academy for the Visual and Performing Arts have completed the Music in Action program. This unique artistic endeavor was the creation of Buffalo's own Goo Goo Doll Robby Takac.
The rock star appeared at the school Wednesday to celebrate his year long Music in Action program -- a music mentoring program. Takac says the program provides music industry skills training sessions. He says students had a chance to write, perform and produce their own CD.
Proceeds from the CD will benefit the HEART for Mental Health program.
Takac says Music in Action helps build community partnerships in the arts. Plans are underway to extend Music in Action program to five local schools next year.
