Buffalo, NY – Accused bike path killer Altemio Sanchez admitted in court Wednesday morning that he killed three women.
Sanchez agreed to a plea deal in the murders of UB student Linda Yalem in 1990, Majane Mazur in 1992 and Joan Diver in 2006. He was arrested in January and was subsequently charged with second degree murder in each of the killings.
DNA evidence in the case linked Sanchez to the murders as well as a series of rapes that occurred in the Buffalo area in the 1980s and '90s.
In court Wednesday, Sanchez weeped as he admitted to Judge Christopher Burns that he strangled the victims. Sanchez's wife, Kathleen, also cried during the proceedings.
Sanchez faces a prison term of 75 years to life in prison. He'll be sentenced on August 2nd.
