Buffalo, NY – Buffalo police detectives say they have arrested two men in connection with last summer's murder of a deli owner on Englewood Avenue.
They identify the suspects as Wesley Kirkland, 17, and Stephen Simon. They are charged with second degree murder and first degree attempted robbery.
Zaid Nasser was working alone in his store on the afternoon of August 29th when he was shot and killed during the robbery attempt.
Chief Dennis Richards said detectives working off a pair of nicknames eventually led them to the suspects.
According to a WBFO News investigation last October, a nearby resident who called 9-1-1 to report the shooting was apparently put on hold for several minutes. A link to that story is available under the heading of "Related Stories" on the right hand side of this page.
