Buffalo, NY – Three Buffalo firefighters were injured Tuesday afternoon at a fire in a vacant house at 636 South Park Avenue.
Buffalo Fire Commissioner Michael Lombardo says a wooden stairwell collapsed.
"When it did collapse, one firefighter went down. Another firefighter grabbed him and held on. But (a third) firefighter fell all the way to the ground," Lombardo said.
The three firefighters were taken to ECMC for treatment, then released. One of the injured firefighters was identified as Charles Andolina, brother of Carl Andolina, one of two Buffalo police officers wounded in the line of duty last December.
