Well-Known Music Teacher, Frank Scinta, Seriously Hurt in Weekend Accident

By Eileen Buckley

Buffalo, NY – A well-known Buffalo music teacher is in serious condition following a head-on crash over the weekend in the Ithaca area.

Frank Scinta, who teaches music and choir at the Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts, was involved in a three car crash Saturday afternoon in Trumansburg, New York. State police say Scinta was driving with two passengers when his car was struck head on by a pick up truck.

Monday morning at the Performing Arts school in Buffalo, the principal issued a letter to faculty and staff regarding the accident. Students were also informed. The school was told Scinta broke both legs and is in serious condition, but is expected to be okay.

Scinta had to be extricated from his car and was airlifted to Wilson Memorial Hospital in Binghamton.

Scinta also directs the Canisius College choir.
