Fans Caught Up in Sabres Fever

By Eileen Buckley

Buffalo, NY – Buffalo Sabres fans are caught up in playoff fever. Many are certain this could be the year for the team, while the players are remaining focused on getting the job done.

Fans surrounded a large rink window inside the Amherst Pepsi Center where their beloved Sabres were on the ice. Players lined up taking a crack at the puck.

Sabres defenseman Teppo Numminen says the start of the playoffs is always an exciting time, especially after the long, regular season.

Numminen says it is great to see how important hockey is to Buffalo. But as a veteran player, he tries to help his teammates stay focused. He says his philosophy is playing one shift, one period and one game at a time.

Goalie Ryan Miller provided some clear perspective for fans. He says if the Sabres are going to do it right, it will take two months. Miller says fans will have to remain supportive and patient, with all the highs and lows for the long hard road to the cup.
