Buffalo, NY – Some male students at the University at Buffalo braved foul weather and tripping hazards Thursday as they participated in "Walk a Mile in Her Shoes" -- a men's march against rape.
Advocates say the march was designed to give men a greater understanding of the impact sexual violence has on women. About 20 men in high heels joined 50 female students and walked through the North Campus carrying signs and chanting.
Coordinator Amanda MacGelkine says the march encourages men to show solidarity with women in an issue that affects both genders.
Organizers say nationwide most female victims of rape are between the ages of 18 and 24. And college campuses concentrate the right demographics for that message.
