State Supreme Court Justice Charged in Traffic Accident

Buffalo, NY – A State Supreme Court justice has been charged with driving while her ability was impaired by drugs and with leaving the scene of an accident in Niagara County.

According to deputies, 52-year-old Amy Jo Fricano is accused of driving a car that caused a brief blackout in Lockport after it struck a power pole late Monday afternoon.

An officer pulled over a car matching the description of the hit-and-run vehicle shortly before 6 p.m. It was driven by Fricano, who failed field sobriety tests and later refused to take a blood test.

Fricano was arraigned, released and scheduled to return to court May 1st.
