According to authorities, Grover stopped by unexpectedly at the home of four year old Serenity Platts around 8:00 while the girl was being watched by her grandmother. He left with the girl when the grandmother left them alone for a moment.

North Tonawanda police issued a nationwide Amber Alert for Serenity.

Grover dropped the girl off in front of her home around midnight, and was taken into custody by police a short time later on Niagara Falls Boulevard in Amherst following a car chase.
