Buffalo, NY – Medaille College has a new president. He is Richard Jurasek, who will come to Medaille after serving as executive vice president of Antioch College in Ohio.
He'll assume his duties as Medaille's sixth president on June 1st. Medaille board chair Williams Collins says Jurasek has a strong background in academics and fundraising.
"Dr. Jurasek is a born educator. He spent 20 plus years as a professor in the classroom before deciding to go into higher education administration," Collins said. "For a college like Medaille, which we feel is on the cusp of greatness, (Dr. Jurasek) is the person who will help us make that leap."
Collins says Medaille received about 45 resumes from people interested in the position. He says the field was then narrowed down, leading to Jurasek's selection as Medaille's next president.
