Fire Kills Two Brothers on Buffalo's East Side

By Mark Scott

Buffalo, NY – A fire on Buffalo's East Side early Saturday killed two young brothers.

Buffalo Police Spokesman Mike DeGeorge identified the victims as Pierre Gotel, 8, and his brother, Marion Brown, 9.

DeGeorge says they were trapped in their home on B Street when the fire broke out shortly after 3:30am. The young boys sustained third degree burns and were taken to Women and Children's Hospital, where they died.

DeGeorge says their mother, Asiaha Brown, 42, escaped from the burning home and was taken to Erie County Medical Center for treatment of her injuries.

The cause of the early morning fire is under investigation.
