Buffalo, NY – Erie County legislators met for about three hours Tuesday to discuss county borrowing for capital projects in the coming year.
Finance and Management Committee Chairman Robert Reynolds says 23 projects would receive funding totaling $22.9 million. He says much of that money would go to road and bridge repairs and jail improvements.
Reynolds says it's less certain how the Giambra administration's proposal to borrow 15 million dollars for an expansion of ECC's City Campus will fare.
"It's really a tough call for a lot of legislators," Reynolds said. "ECC is an important part of our community. If you're trying to be forward thinking, it would be nice to have a new city campus. It's something the legislators have to wrestle with."
Reynolds says a final committee vote to approve the capital borrowing could be taken next week.
