Buffalo, NY – There has been more trouble in the Buffalo school system. A fight, apparently gang-related, broke out in Burgard High School on Kensington Avenue.
Buffalo Teachers Federation President Phil Rumore says the fighting is unacceptable.
"What we have found happening district-wide is that violent and disruptive students are being suspended and then being sent back to the exact same school," Rumore said. "That can't continue to happen."
Two students were taken to the hospital with injuries, and six students were arrested.
Mayor Byron Brown says Buffalo police officers would be assigned to city schools Friday to beef up security.
