Buffalo, NY – A state audit released Monday shows that eight of twelve laptop computers examined in the Newfane school district were used for personal business.
State comptroller Thomas DiNapoli says that is inappropriate.
"School boards have a responsibility to make sure that district resources are protected and used for appropriate school business," DiNapoli said.
Pornographic images and web links were found on two of the computers used by school board members.
Niagara County officials will examine the laptops to see if there is any child pornography on the disks, which would be a criminal offense.
